AAAS 2000 Annual Meeting


Symposia

These sessions are the are the meat of the meeting. They are usually three hours long with four to five speakers and a moderator. At any one time there are 16-20 symposia happening. The sessions are proposed by the members of AAAS and the final sessions are selected by the meeting program committee and members of the various topics sections of AAAS. The symposia are organized into different program tracks with an overarching theme so that a person can attend them all without any overlapping time. It is interesting to look at the program tracks where one can see the true diversity of the meeting.
