Cell Explorer

Cell Explorer is an exhibit that looks at the structure and function of living cells. All living things are made up of cells and a cell is smallest self-maintaining thing. If someone took a cell from a human body and took proper care of it, it would survive alone. Cells come in different shapes and sizes, but share the same basic parts and processes. This exhibit explores: Where people get the energy their bodies need to move around; how one cell turns into two and why that is important; how cells build the proteins they use to function; how proteins move in and out of cells and do their jobs.
