This exhibit
is a sculpture that tests the limits of the user’s ablility
to recognize a familiar pattern. The viewer watches the image of
his/her own face on a monitor as it dissolves and reforms into a
patchwork of black and white squares. Remarkably it takes very few
pieces for the image to be recognized. And the more familiar the
pattern the fewer pieces are needed.
