Kinetic Light

The KINETIC LIGHT SCULPTURE is made up of two glass tubes, one filled with mercury vapor and the other with neon gas, to produce radiant blue and orange-red lights. The tubes are each connected to a motor. You can manipulate three controls to vary the speed of rotation, intensity and frequency of the moving light sources--creating infinite and subtle visual effects. The eye responds with after image colors, the perception of light broken into the spectrum and the persistence of strong geometric patterns.
