A tiny glass
electrode has been inserted into a live sea slug brain, visible
through a magnifier. The electrode is used to record the activity
of, and send signals to a single cell in the brain. A button
enables the visitor to send an impulse to the cell; a computer
monitor displays a line which spikes whenever the cell fires
an impulse.
