Electricity and Magnetism

Magnetic Pendulums

An observer sets the phase switch to “in” and pulls back either of the pendulums and releases it, letting it swing freely. The other pendulum begins to swing in the same direction. When the phase switch is set to “out,” the two pendulums swing in the opposite directions. By watching the copper coils swinging through magnetic fields, observers can see how electricity and magnetism interact.
