Pentachord

The Pentachord allows you to produce tones of different pitch on the same string by varying its length. All five strings are tuned to the same fundamental tone of C, but only the first string sounds this tone. Two of the strings have permanent bridges, creating the tones G and F. The remaining two strings have moveable bridges, allowing you to alter the tone. By varying the length of these strings, you can experiment with different combinations of these tones.
