Phase Pendulum

The Phase Pendulum is put into motion by a rod which is not rigidly attached to the pendulum, but rather to the axis of the pendulum's motion. In forcing the pendulum to move, you discover that the motion of your hand is not in phase with the motion of the pendulum, but is one-quarter of a cycle out of phase, which is typical of resonant behavior.
