Standing Wave
STANDING WAVE uses a large garage door spring to demonstrate resonance and standing waves. The spring is attached to a vibrating motor which can be adjusted to different speeds. At particular speeds, you will notice patterns of movement and stillness in the spring which indicate standing waves. You can also feel these wave patterns by running your hand along the top of the spring.
