Stereo Sound I
Stereo Sound I helps to explain how people are able to locate the sources of sounds as accurately as they do. The exhibit consists of a vacuum cleaner hose bent into a U-shape with an earpiece at each end. You can hold the hose to your ears and attempt to identify the location of taps on the hose made by a second person. By listening to the taps with both ears and then one ear only, you learn how important two ears are to sound location.
