Voltage is the "push"
that makes electricity flow. This device, called a VOLTAGE DIVIDER,
has a sliding contact that lets visitors control how much of this
push goes to each part of the circuit. The balance and tone controls
on a stereo are usually voltage dividers—like this one only
smaller.
