When things that are the SAME bind together, the process is called COHESION. An example of cohesion is surface tension in water where water molecules stick to one another. The tendency for different kinds of matter to cling together is called ADHESION. Cellophane tape sticks to almost anything and hence is also called "adhesive tape."
