 WWI prosthetic cambodian prosthetic

The prosthetic leg on the left was made in the early 1900s in the United States and was
probably used to help an amputee around the time of World War I.
The prosthetic on the right is more modern. It was made in Cambodia, where—thanks to the proliferation of landmines—the making of prosthetic limbs has become a village industry.
The top is a spent artillery shell; the foot is made from a rubber tire.
