Thursday, July 31, 9:00 p.m. – Friday, August 1, 6:00 a.m.
On the evening of July 31, and continuing into the wee hours of August 1, the Exploratorium presented a live Webcast of the total solar eclipse from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China near the Mongolian border. To celebrate this evocative locale along the ancient trade route called the Silk Road, the Exploratorium presented performances, hands-on activities, storytelling, and installations that highlight the cultural diversity of this region.
