Restoring the Waterfront
Between June 2010 and March 2011, Exploratorium Board Member Scott Hindes photographed the initial construction at Pier 15. Much of this work was focused on repairing, strengthening, and retrofitting existing structures and supports, particularly beneath the piers.

Together, the two buildings, including the “valley” between them, will make up the Exploratorium’s new
nine-acre campus, with Pier 15 serving as home to the new Exploratorium.
