The Science Explorer

The Exploratorium's Science-At-Home team is looking for enthusiastic families with kids ages 9 to 12 to help us test activities for a new book, tentatively titled Mind Benders and Brain Games.

Test our latest mind-benders online and tell us what you think. These are activities we're still working on, and we want your ideas about how they work. Currently, we'd like your opinion of the " Towering Coins " brain-teaser. Give it a try with your family and friends, then send us an email with your comments. Thanks for your help!

Every month, between January and May, we'll be sending out a packet of brain teasers, puzzles, mind-bending games, and memory tricks. By experimenting with this material, kids can learn about the workings of their own minds.

How do you go about solving a difficult problem? How does your memory work and how can you improve it? How do you solve puzzles, and how can you get better at it? If you are interested in participating in this project, please let us know by emailing us. If you do, we'll send you a packet of exciting, mind-bending activities.

If you play with the activities, then fill out and return a questionnaire each month, we'll send you the next packet of activities. And if you help us out, we'll thank you in the completed book!

If your family would like to participate, please email the following data to: home_science@exploratorium.edu
