Santa Fe Institute

The Santa Fe Institute is one of the world's few research centers devoted to the study of complex adaptive systems. Founded in 1984, the SFI is a private research and education center that is highly interdisciplinary, providing an environment in which scientists from diverse backgrounds can learn from each other.

The SFI is home to many well-known researchers including its resident faculty .

There are a number of other research centers around the world focusing on nonlinear phenomena and complexity. Here are just a few. The Center for Nonlinear Studies and the Complex Systems Group at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. The Center for Complex Systems Research at the University of Illinois Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology . The Chaos Group at the University of Maryland, College Park . The Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics in Physiology and Medicine at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. The Center for Chaos and Turbulence Studies at the Neils Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark. See especially the Center's extensive list of links to nonlinear science research centers .
