There is a wonderful student Marine Biology at Hawaiian Prepatory Acadeny
(HPA). It is a fifteen day program, thirteen days on the Big Island and
2 days on Maui. The students(high school age) get 1/2 credit in marine science.
Students generally spend weekday mornings in the classroom and the afternoons
doing labs in the ocean. Weekends are spent touring the island. I have had
the opportunity to walk on lava that covered the road three weeks earlier,
seen lava ooze into the ocean,
viewed a manta ray grazing on the ocean bottom. This is a great trip. If
