"I TOUCH THE FUTURE...I TEACH." Christa
McAuliffe
For me, this quote sums up the essense of teaching. It is not only a validation
of what we do, but also a reminder of how we teachers must be careful to
touch the future in a positive way.
For the past several years I have been fortunate to teach physical science
and algebra at
The
Hockaday School
in
Dallas,
TX
with an impressive group of colleagues (sample home page of one fellow
teacher,
David
Allain
) working with talented students.
This page was developed at the
Wright
Science Workshop
, presented by the
Exploratorium
and Tufts University.
Other interesting workshop and learning opportunities I have experienced
are:
Jet Propulsion Labs
Educators Workshops
Frontiers in Science
III
Space Camp for Educators
Disney University
NSTA conventions
NCTM conventions
NECC conventions
Please share information on any interesting workshops you have attended.
Thanks.
