LEAP Art/Science Integrated project

 

Title:Scientific Illusion: Science Literacy

Artist: Jackie Murphy

Teacher: Elena Robles

Location: Lake View High School

 

Synopsis: these writing were collected over a period of a semester. The writings related to the subject matter studied in science. The artist had the students use visual imagery and drawings to guide them in the writing process. The teacher and artist collaborated on how the subject matter should be approached and how to attain the final outcome. In many cases the writings served as a form of assessment. Once the students had learned the science topic, they were able to use their knowledge and creativity in completing their writings.
