LEAP: Art/Science integrated project

Title: photography used as a form of data collecting

Location: Lake View High School

Mini-Unit

1st session:students learned about composition, they saw examples and were asked to draw objects to asses their understanding of composstion.

2nd session: camera were assigned and film loaded, explanation of the project.3 students per team. each was given a job and each would rotate at next tree. Each group was responsible for collecting the designated data from three different trees

1. make a leaf print

2. make a bark print

3. take a picture

3rd session: outdoor excursion using video camera on tripod for examples of posssible compositions.

4th session: students reseached their data and concluded by finding the name of their selected trees. The computer was used to print the information needed for their display.

5th session: the students used spray glue to paste their display together.
