SCENARIO
-
You are now 18 years
old and and have been working for 3 months now. You
thought that since you have a good job, you can now be on
your own.
-
Your parents thouht
it's a good idea so they gave you $1000 to start
with.
-
You wanted to find a
place near your parent's place, that is within the Bay
Area. Since you could not afford the rent, you decided to
have a roommate. (Your roommate is your project
partner.)
-
You are not taking
anything aside from your personal stuff.
Here's what you are going
to do:
1. What job are you doing? Give a
description about your job- location, the kind of work, how
much you are paid per hour,week,or month, etc. Consider
yourself working a full time job, that is, 40 hours a week.
You may use the newspaper and the following suggested

2. Enjoy your house/apartment

Get ready to shop
. There
are three ways that you can do this: actually go out and
"shop", use newpapers ads, or use the following to shop your
stuff for your house ....appliances and furniture, basic
necessities like pots, pans, plates, silverware,toiletries,
and groceries for one month.

Writing your
Report
1. Write a description of your
apartment - location or address, how many bedrooms, what
does it look like.
2. Describe how you and your
roommate are going to share your responsibilities regarding
expenses, duties at home like cooking, cleaning (house,
bathroom, dishes,etc) , How abot guests? When and how long
can they visit? Are you going to have a curfew? (Remember,
both of you are working full time.)
3. Write a summary of your moving
expenses, which must include tax on non-food items. Use the
following
