A Drop to Drink

Getting a drink of water would be very different if you where the size of a doll. Turn on the water in the doll sink. How much water can you get into the cup? Can you pour the water out? The water in the tiny cup looks strange because of surface tension. In a big cup we don't notice surface tension. The behavior of small drops of water is dominated by surface tension. This exhibit is made up of a miniature sink that drips tiny drops of water into a cup. The cup is held by a tiny-barbie like hand which can be manipulated by visitors.
