Magnetic Clouds
Visitors
use magnets to "scoop" up iron particles contained in
an oil-filled glass tube. Removing the magnets releases the iron
into the oil, and the particles swirl in dense clouds. By once again
moving the magnets close to the tube, visitors cause the clouds
to organize into patterns revealing the magnetic field of the magnets.
