PROFESSOR
PULFRICH'S UNIVERSE is an Artist-in-Residence piece containing many
different moving objects. When viewers look at the shadows of these
moving objects with a piece of smoked Plexiglas over one eye, they
perceive depth. This phenomenon is called the Pulfrich effect, and
is caused by the glass delaying the light entering one eye.
