This exhibit demonstrates
how visual clues in the surrounding world help us keep our balance.
As the visitor stands on one leg, a striped board suspended from
the ceiling slowly moves to the left. As the vertical lines move,
the observer tries to compensate for their motion, and gets thrown
off balance.
