Watts the Difference
Watts The Difference attempts to explain the concept of electrical power and the relationship of voltage and current to that power. The visitor adjusts two lamps to the same brightness and observes that a power meter on each reads the same. Upon further examination, the visitor notices that the voltage on one lamp is 10 times that on the other while the current is only 1/10. If the visitor is really adventurous, they will notice that the power (in watts) is equal to the voltage times the current. The exhibit further invites the visitor to do calculations based on the above observation and even provides the calculator (solar powered) to do them.
