THE DNA FILES Climate Change Workshop
THE DNA FILES Genetics of Climate Change Workshop is an introduction to DNA and its relationships to climate change. Participants will build a DNA model, extract and examine DNA from wheat germ cells, and explore how DNA encodes information for building complete organisms. Building on these activities, participants will then investigate how global warming affects an organisms environment, DNA, and behavior.
The workshop is roughly 1.5 hours long, can accommodate 20–30 participants, and is suitable for 5th–7th graders or family groups working together.
