THE DNA FILES INDIVIDUAL WORKSHOPS:
All of The DNA Files Individual Workshops begin with an introduction to DNA in which participants build a DNA model, extract and examine DNA from wheat germ cells, and explore how DNA encodes information for building complete organisms. Each workshop then includes additional activities that focus on a specific aspect of DNA and its role in our world.
Evolution : This workshop introduces participants to the concepts of natural selection, genetic drift, and how organisms change over time.
Comparing DNA : This workshop illustrates what participants can learn about themselves by comparing human DNA to that of other creatures.
Genetics of Climate Change : This workshop focuses on how global warming affects an organisms environment, DNA, and behavior.
