Totality. Daylight dims as if it were late dusk. The temperature drops noticeably and night birds come out to hunt. For almost four minutes, the moon completely blocks the disk of the sun, revealing the sun’s atmosphere, called the corona. The long streamers are typical of an eclipse that occurs during a quiet period of sun activity (solar minimum).
