Each issue of Exploratorium Magazine , a publication we no longer publish, was devoted to a single topic, which was examined from many different points of view. The style was whimsical, the content solid, and there were lots of illustrations and activities. The magazine was intended for nonscientists: the reading level was easy enough for middle school students, but the content was informative enough for any curious adult. The magazine was published from 1977 until 2003. Read excerpts here .
