Once seeds have been grown out in the field, what's not needed for storage is sent to the NS/S store in downtown Tucson. Visitors can buy small packs of these unique seed varieties, identified according to the tribe that developed them, for planting in their own gardens. In the case of beans and corn, the shelves are also stocked with larger bags, ready for cooking and eating. To learn more about Native Seeds/SEARCH or to order unique seeds or foods from them, visit their Web site at http://www.nativeseeds.org . |
