U nscrew the top of the porcelain fixture. Twist and bend the exposed area of each wire in a U shape. Attach the black wire to the brass screw and the white wire to the gray screw. Be sure that neither wire touches the metal socket, which could cause a short-circuit.

STEP 18

W ith the wires in place, attach the porcelain light fixture to the wood disk. Using a Philips head screwdriver and a 1/2" #6 pan head sheet-metal screw, screw the porcelain fixture to the wood disk.
