looking at the moon

put it on a piece of paper
What color is the moon?
Most of the moon is actually the dullish gray color of a robin’s wing, yet it appears to be a bright silvery yellow or white in the night sky. Our percepton of the color of an object, or even its brightness, is affected by the color and brightness of what’s around it.

Things to do:
Cut a small hole (about 1/4" in diameter) in a sheet of white paper. When the moon is full, hold the sheet of paper at arm’s length so that you can see the moon through the hole. Shine the light on the paper. What color is the moon? next
