The visitor pumps air into a viewing chamber and then opens a release valve. The rapid release of pressure allows the air to expand and cool to below its dew point, causing the moisture in the air to condense and form fog. A light mounted in the rear of the chamber illuminates the fog. Gauges are connected to the chamber that monitor pressure and temperature.
