In
TexNET, museum partners get a single, themed set of 18 high-quality,
hands-on exhibits, coupled with the professional development
that enables museum staff to make these exhibits rewarding
to audiences they serve. All exhibits have been linked to
the TEKS guidelines. Partners become a part of a vibrant network
of museums, researchers, and individuals who share a strong
passion for hands-on, exhibit-based science education and
reaching diverse rural and urban audiences.
The
National Science Foundation
(Informal Science
Education program) has provided major funding for the launch
of the network, and the founding partners have also contributed
significantly in terms of time and money.
We
are always interested in bringing into the partnership new
museums who share our underlying philosophy. If you are a
formal educational institution, a service provider, an arts,
science, or educational association, or a government agency
interested in the project and wanting to get involved, we'd
like y'all to join us!
TexNET
is valuable because of the partnership and for what the partners
bring to the network. To find out more about what it's like
to be involved, contact the participants on the
Contacts
page. To join our betwork, please contact
