Comparing the two graphs above (the upper graph is a plot of the position of the head over time and the lower graph is of the position of the end of abdomen over time) we noticed that although the two plots were similar, the head seemed to be moving with much more energy, indicating that the motion was beginning in the head, vibrating through the body, and that the abdomen or posterior end of the insect was following the head. We decided to plot the motion of the front and back leg joints to see if we could locate the exact origin of the movement.
