The doppler
effect is dramatically demonstrated at very slow (walking) velocities.
The person walks between two loudspeakers which are producing notes
which are slightly different (by 1 Hz). The “envelope"
(or number of beats per second) of the sound can be made to increase
or decrease in frequency by walking toward one or the other of the
speakers
