REACTION TIME

Like all other animals, humans can only experience the immediate past. Many scores of milliseconds must pass before any change in the world can be registered by a sense organ or interpreted by a brain. This perceptual lag behind the world, measured from the moments at which changes actually occur and the moments at which we can apprehend them, has become know as 'reaction time'.
