UT/4:03 PDT: Solar researcher Jay Pasachoff will report live from
Rîmincu-Vîlcea -- the "exact center" of the
eclipse -- where he will be studying rapid oscillations in the corona
during totality.
Weather
permitting, some of the best eclipse viewing is expected in Romania,
where the phenomenon will reach its longest duration (2m, 23s) and
the moon's shadow will move at its slowest speed during this event
-- 1500 mph. Street festivals are planned all along the country's
eclipse path, including the capital city, Bucharest.
