Candy Around the World

People everywhere, particularly children, seem to have an innate liking for sweets and candy. Some scientists explain this “natural sweet tooth” as an evolutionary safety measure—many sweet-tasting foods such as ripe fruits and vegetables are safe and nutritious, while bitter-tasting plants are often poisonous.

We invite you to view our “Candy Around the World” photo gallery to catch a glimpse of some of the different kinds of candies that are made and enjoyed around the globe. Then, visit our bulletin board to share stories, pictures, and recipes of traditional candies from your country!
