How did Explainers respond to Wi-Fi–enabled handhelds?

In many cases, audio explanations can allow greater interaction with the exhibit than visual or textual graphics. For some exhibits, users can choose the format in which an explanation is given-they can watch a video of a science teacher discussing the exhibit; they can hear an audiotaped explanation; or they can read a text discussion.

The Exploratorium develops exhibits for other science centers and has translated exhibit graphics into multiple languages. However, on the Museum floor, only English-language graphics are currently available. Using the Guidebook, visitors can also get information on some exhibits in Spanish.
