How did Explainers respond to Wi-Fi–enabled handhelds?
Exploratorium staff and collaborators conducted focused studies with teachers, staff, museum members and Explainers (teenage museum docents) to investigate what kinds of content were of interest to different groups of users. Researchers from HP Labs provided technological expertise throughout the development and research process.
As part of the development of the Electronic Guidebook, Metacourse, Inc. conducted a research study at the Exploratorium exploring uses of and reactions to the Guidebook’s content and interface. Exploratorium staff also conducted numerous interviews with users during the course of the project.
